Looks like December is the month to get plants around here on the Candee home. Red got us a xmas tree at the beginning of the month and we had been talking about how cool it would be to have our very own living xmas tree so we wouldn’t have to buy one every year or (heavens forbid) get a plastic one. Yes I know plastic trees kick ass and they last forever but that’s not the way I roll. I like my plants to be real.
So we stopped by this place where they sell a huge amount of plants and we were going to buy a simple, normal pine tree but we ended up buying a gorgeous Araucaria tree whom immediately became Luka’s best friend. They even share his favorite ray of sun in the afternoon.
On that same place where we got our tree Red discovered the beauty of carnivorous plants and he obviously had to have one. Well, not only one, but we are going on 3 different species now…Don’t ask me what they are as I have no clue. I only know the one with the “big mouth” is called Venus Fly Trap. The rest are just “bug eating plants” to me
these guys are growing like crazy all over the place

The day they get big enough to catch a cat I'll throw them out the window
I love these ones, you spray them a little water and the sight is amazing
I’m still confused about how I feel about this plant. I like it, their color is gorgeous once they open their “mouth” but when they are small and growing up they have hairs. HAIRS I TELLS YOU!! Once they grow up they lose their ugly hairs and become beauties like this one :)
And if one tree and three carnivorous plants were not enough… Red got me a bonsai yesterday. But not any bonsai… a cherry tree bonsai, how cool is that? No pictures for that one as it’s about to bloom, and I rather show it off then.

-me: now Pinup, look at the camera and say Cheeeeese
-Luka: OMG did you say cheese? are we getting cheese today?

Wow! How cool is that???
I've always loved bonsais and carnivorous plants have always intrigued me. But, they're a bit expensive, so I better buy a shirt ((I'm like that, you know)).
I've always wanted to have a guava bonsai... Or a avocado--- Or maybe a... cas?? ((how ho you say cas in English??????))
Anyway, I don't know if that's possible. Can a bonsai be made out of any tree?
A pine bonsai would look perfect in Christimas!

ooo those plants are SO COOL. My brother had a Venus Fly Trap when we were younger and it was so neat. I want one!
UAS: I think you can make a bonsai out of any tree but I'm no expert. I'm hoping we get tiny cherries and all :D
Bren: isn't he making the silliest face ever? ^^ most of those plants are pretty cool, it's a lot of fun seeing the bugs being caught
